  • Individuals who have been identified as the server or project administrator of the Microsoft Project Server 2016 Enterprise Project Management solution
  • Individuals who have been identified as the server or project administrator of the Microsoft Project Online Enterprise Project Management solution
  • Administrators who are responsible for maintaining the client and server – side administrative features
  • PMO Leads and other Stakeholders responsible for implementing or deciding how to use Microsoft Project Server to solve enterprise project management needs
  • Program Managers and other Stakeholders responsible for managing programs and/or creating program-level reports using Project Server/Online 2016 data
  • Portfolio Managers and other Stakeholders responsible for implementing a solution to enable analysis of projects, business drivers, costs, and resources

Course Objectives:
In this course, students will learn how to:

  • Describe the enterprise architecture - on-premise and cloud
  • Interpret the various Project license options and plans
  • Describe the configurable modules of Microsoft Project Web App
  • Define custom fields - modify default fields (Departments, RBS), create new task/resource/project fields, add formulas, value lists, and graphical indicators
  • Specify default options for Microsoft Project schedules and templates - settings, views
  • Modify calendars - holidays, setup recurrence where possible, part-time resources
  • Add and modify (bulk edit) enterprise resources - reporting attributes, availability, optionally require Engagements
  • Setup a role-based security model for ease of use - specify group-based features (e.g., only PMO can set a baseline) and category-based views (e.g., team members only see projects to which they're assigned)
  • Configure the system for time and task management - tracking method, reporting periods, business rules
  • Add and modify PWA views - time tracking, task progress, schedule details, cross-project views, portfolio analyses views, resources
  • Manage the Queue - understand queue jobs and how to use to troubleshoot when necessary
  • Set and monitor Operational Policies - permissions mode, version control, notifications
  • Access and manage Connected SharePoint Sites - specify settings for creation/provisioning, link a site to a different project
  • Create Enterprise Project Types - specify pages, schedule templates, and site templates for different project types
  • Kickoff a Workflow for certain or all types of projects - create workflow phases and stages, create a Microsoft SharePoint workflow, publish the workflow to PWA, associate the workflow to certain project types
  • Implement Strategy components - create drivers, conduct pairwise comparison, create and analyze portfolios to assess and select projects per priority, budget and resource availability
