This two-day, instructor-led, two-part course provides an introduction to the portfolio analyses capabilities within Microsoft Project Server and Microsoft Project Online. The course includes setting up portfolio drivers and their impact statements, conducting pairwise comparison of those drivers to define driver prioritizations (ranked list of drivers), creating different types of portfolios (e.g., departmental, resource team, pipeline, fiscal year), and conducting what-if analyses modeling changes to various types of costs, resource availability, and project priorities. The course includes real-world discussions of experiences and common challenges in deploying a portfolio solution such as obtaining appropriate participation and buy-in on drivers and portfolios, adhering to portfolio decisions, frequency of portfolio analyses, considering compliance and pet projects, fast-tracking approvals.  The course is most beneficial if delivered using your Microsoft Project Web App environment and data.  A course manual is provided in addition to labs and class exercises.
