Course Description:
Students use Microsoft Office Project Server in this advanced workshop to review 70-634 exam topics with emphasis on advanced capabilities and features new to Project Server 2007. Students should have prior experience managing programs in a Project Server 2003 or 2007 environment; including the ability to create and manage master plans, and efficiently utilize enterprise resources to achieve program goals.  Students should also have prior experience configuring and supporting a Project Server 2003 or 2007 environment; including the ability to modify the security model, create new fields and views, define financial and timesheet periods, manage administrative categories, and update the OLAP cube. A course manual will be provided.  The course also includes an overview of the exam process and sample exam questions.

Students will have the opportunity to take the 70-634 exam onsite immediately after the review. The exam is a separate fee of $125 that must be paid onsite the day of the exam.  As a Prometric testing center, we can get you registered for the exam, accept payment and discount vouchers, and sign you up for a free retake if the offer is currently available from Microsoft.

  • Individuals who plan to take exam 70-634 PRO: Microsoft Office Project Server 2007, Managing Projects and Programs
  • Individuals who are required to use Microsoft Office Project Professional 2007 and Project Web Access to create, update and manage multiple interdependent project plans

Course Objectives:
In this course, students will review Project Server capabilities within the following topic areas:

  • Review the Microsoft Project Server solution architecture and navigate key interfaces
  • Understand default Project Server configuration settings
  • Review the Project Server security model
  • Define a program in Project Server
  • Define program resources and review and update program plans
  • Update enterprise resource pool profiles
  • Optimize a program for time, cost and resources and set a program baseline
  • Configure Timesheets and Task Progress settings and track the work of resources
  • Perform Earned Value Management
  • Update approved baseline changes into an existing program
  • Customize Project Server enterprise fields and OLAP cube settings
  • Update Project Center, Project Detail and Data Analysis views
  • Modify project workspaces
  • Configure Queue, Backup and other Project Server settings

At the end of this review course, you are ready to take the exam:
