Course Description:
Students use Microsoft Office Project
Server 2007 (a/k/a Project Web Access) and related
enterprise components in this advanced workshop
to learn advanced analysis techniques aligning with Project
Management Institute best practices. Students learn to utilize
Project Server to effectively analyze projects and distribute
reports.
Prerequisites:
5929A:
Microsoft Office Project Server 2007, Managing Projects and Programs or similar
experience.
Intended Audience:
This 4-hour course is designed
for:
- Individuals who are required to evaluate and standardize
Project Web Access reporting
- Individuals who are required to customize and extend
Project Web Access views
- Individuals who want to learn PWA reporting best
practices, tips and tricks
Course Objectives:
In this course, students will learn how to:
- Support Project Server Reporting and Analysis
- Creating custom fields – formulas, MDX expressions
- Updating PWA Project and Resource views – types, layouts, filters, groups
- Creating Data Analysis views – cube and data types, capabilities
- Distributing report data – print, export, sync exported data
- Querying the database – common needs such as pending updates
- Formally close out an enterprise project
- Using SharePoint surveys for project evaluation and close-out verification
- Updating enterprise project templates with lessons learned
- Determining when and how to archive the project and it’s SharePoint site
